This pure silk twill combines the excellence of Como textile craftsmanship with the timeless appeal of high-end traditional neckwear, offering an exclusive archive piece originally produced for the renowned Marinella Tie Maker of Naples (high-fashion production surplus, unsigned and without labels).

The Twill Structure: Crisp, Responsive and Characteristically Rustling

With an ideal weight of 110 grams per linear metre, the fabric has a beautifully crisp, dense and characteristically rustling handle. Its classic diagonal twill weave provides excellent structural stability, typical of the finest atelier-quality silks.

The fabric retains its original technical format: it is divided into 70 cm-long panels across the full 140 cm width, clearly defined by fine guide lines. As explained in our video, these geometric markings originally served as reference points for the precise positioning and cutting of ties and large silk scarves.

  • Flexibility in Cutting and Design: The perimeter guide lines can be easily excluded or worked around during cutting, allowing pattern pieces to be adapted effortlessly to the dimensions of each panel.
  • The Pattern: The design is developed on a sophisticated shaded dark-grey background. Across this magnetic base flows a sinuous geometric motif forming diagonal waves, delicately traced in neutral sand tones, creating an exceptionally refined chromatic contrast.
  • Sartorial Feel: Matte, dense and fully opaque, the fabric holds its shape with aristocratic composure, offering a contemporary and elegant visual effect without ever appearing overly glossy.

Ideal for Unisex Creations

  • Clothing and Luxury Loungewear: Perfect for structured high-end shirts, elegant blouses, luxury dressing gowns and tailored pyjama sets with a masculine-inspired cut.
  • Couture Linings: Decorative, ultra-luxurious linings for important outerwear such as structured coats, trench coats and winter jackets — ideal for adding an exclusive hidden detail of exceptional value.
  • Neckwear and Accessories: Large collectible square scarves, ascots, bespoke ties and coordinating pocket squares.

Care and Maintenance

To preserve the crispness of the fibre, its characteristic rustle and the brilliance of the colours over time, gentle dry cleaning is recommended.

Iron on the reverse side only at low temperature, strictly without steam, using a dry protective pressing cloth.
