“Umberto Durando” Super 120 Worsted – Scottish Check (Bright Blue, Light Blue & Black)
The Fabric
A signature fabric that blends Biella’s centuries-old textile tradition with a bold and refreshing color combination. This heavyweight 330-gram worsted bears the prestigious “UMBERTO DURANDO SUPER 120 MADE IN ITALY” selvedge signature, a historic brand beloved by traditional tailors and synonymous with supply chain excellence, exceptional structural stability, and extraordinary crease resistance.
The design offers an intriguing stylistic hybrid of great visual research: a Prince of Wales pattern redefined by a light blue weave and a black stripe unfolds on a bright, luminous blue base. The result evokes the geometric impact of an avant-garde tartan, yet interpreted with the rigor of classic Welsh check. An archive piece with a strong, magnetic, and cosmopolitan character, dedicated to those who love to stand out by breaking the mold.
NB: This fabric is part of a limited and protected stock of premium quality, preserved to ensure the absolute exclusivity of the custom-made garment.
Unique Features
Umberto Durando Signature: The original Super 120 selvedge guarantees the authenticity and quality of Biella craftsmanship.
Hybrid Style: The tartan effect applied to the Prince of Wales check creates a unique and highly three-dimensional optical texture.
Contrasting Light Blue & Black: The light blue illuminates the bright blue base, while the black stripe gives depth and rigor to the geometry.
Hand Effect: Compact, agile, warm, and with a perfect tailored fit.
Recommended Use: Winter dresses with a strong personality, structured jackets, avant-garde separates, and tailored trousers.
Care and Maintenance
Washing: Dry clean only at a specialized cleaner. Do not bleach.
Drying: Do not tumble dry. Allow the garment to dry on a suitable, shaped hanger in a well-ventilated area.
Ironing: At medium heat (max. 150°C), always using a protective cotton cloth to prevent the wool from becoming shiny.
Drying: Thanks to its 330g and Super 120 quality, the fabric has excellent shape memory: let it dry for 24 hours outside the closet to eliminate any creases.
