The tactile luxury of Haute Couture meets the tradition of Biella.
Discover the timeless appeal of our 100% Pure Wool Openable Double-Face Double Crêpe, Made in Italy.
A true expression of the textile excellence of Biella, one of the world’s most prestigious wool-producing districts, this exceptional fabric is distinguished by its woven selvedge lettering, an exclusive detail incorporated along the edge that certifies its authenticity and outstanding 100% Made in Italy craftsmanship.
This refined fabric is an exceptional choice for high-end tailoring and couture creations requiring structure, elegance and an impeccable drape.
Its distinctive construction consists of two layers of exceptionally fine fabric intimately joined together, which can be carefully opened and separated along the edges.
This special technique makes it possible to create invisible, hand-finished double-face seams, eliminating the need for a lining and leaving the inside of the garment beautifully finished — a hallmark of true Haute Couture craftsmanship.
Structure, Body and Exceptional Drape
- Rich Thickness and Body:
The double-layer construction gives the fabric a substantial, luxurious handle, enveloping warmth and excellent structure, making it ideal for creating shape and volume. - Fluid, Smooth Drape:
Despite its substantial weight, the surface remains elegantly smooth, with the characteristic subtly textured appearance of crêpe. This unique balance allows the fabric to retain body and presence without becoming stiff, following the movement of the body with a soft, flowing and sculptural drape. - Retro Heritage, Contemporary Appeal:
A fabric deeply connected with the fashion aesthetics of the 1960s and 1970s, double-face wool has returned to prominence in contemporary collections and remains highly appreciated in Haute Couture for its refined minimalism, clean construction and understated elegance.
Ideal for High-End Tailoring
Thanks to its exceptional combination of structure and fluidity, this premium fabric is particularly suited to the creation of:
- Designer overcoats and coats, unlined and finished by hand.
- Structured suits and tailored ensembles with clean, architectural lines.
- Full-circle and flared skirts, where natural volume and a sculptural drape are essential.
Its openable double-face construction makes it particularly suitable for garments in which the internal finish is as important as the exterior, allowing the craftsmanship of the garment to remain visible even without a traditional lining.
Care and Maintenance
To preserve the softness, structure and natural elasticity of this fine Biella wool over time, we recommend the following care instructions:
- Cleaning: Dry clean only, using a gentle professional cleaning process. Do not machine wash and do not bleach.
- Drying: Do not tumble dry. Dry the garment flat, away from direct heat sources and strong sunlight.
- Ironing: Iron at a medium temperature suitable for wool, maximum 150°C / 302°F, preferably inside out or with a damp pressing cloth placed between the iron and the fabric to protect the crêpe finish. Moderate use of steam helps naturally refresh and restore the fibres.
A prestigious double-face wool created for those who appreciate authentic Italian tailoring, refined construction and the beauty of a garment impeccably finished both inside and out.
